BuyerLeverage has received investments from Access Technology Capital LLC and Regis Management Company LLC and other private equity firms, and from individual investors.

Access Technology Capital LLC is part of Access Industries, a private, U.S.-based investment firm with more than $4 billion under management in the energy, aluminum, technology, telecommunications, and financial services sectors.

In the United States, Access manages a broad portfolio of private equity investments.  In Russia, Access completed the largest transaction in the country's corporate history, a $7.7 billion joint venture involving British Petroleum, Access-Renova and Alfa Group. The deal created TNK-BP, Russia’s third largest oil and gas company, which is currently producing 1.2 million barrels of oil per day.  Access’s principal Russian investments also include the Siberian-Urals Aluminum Company (SUAL), which is the world’s sixth largest aluminum producer, and various telecommunications and manufacturing companies.  In Kazakhstan, Access owns a large coal mining enterprise and operates an oil company on behalf of the state.  In Western Europe, Access has investments in the media, technology and telecommunications industries.

Access Industries is led by Len Blavatnik, who is also Access’ founder and principal shareholder.  Len is a graduate of the Moscow Institute of Transport Engineering, and also holds a MBA from the Harvard Business School as well as a Masters in Computer Science from Columbia University.

Regis Management Company LLC is an investment firm controlled by the family of John Freidenrich.  John founded the technology investment firm Bay Partners in 1976 and led the firm over a quarter century.  He also maintains close ties with his alma mater, Stanford University, where he received a bachelor’s degree and LLD.  John served as a member of Stanford University’s Board of Trustees for a decade, and as Chairman of the Board for four years in the mid-1990s.  He is currently Chairman of the Board at Packard Children's Hospital, and Director of Stanford Hospital and Clinics.

Beginning his career as a lawyer, John founded the law firm of Ware & Freidenrich in 1968.  In 2005, the firm, known then as Gray, Cary, Ware and Freidenrich, merged with two others to create DLA Piper, one of the world's largest and most respected law firms.
